Tangail is a district in the central region of Bangladesh that has various natural resources that contribute to its economy and culture. Some of the natural resources of Tangail are:

River resources: Tangail has several rivers that flow through the district, such as the Jamuna, Dhaleshwari, Jhenai, Bangshi, Louhajang, Langulia, Elongjani, Jugni, Pouli, Fotikjani and the Turag. These rivers provide water for irrigation, drinking water supply, sanitation, hydropower generation, navigation, and recreation. The rivers also support a rich fishery resource base, consisting of both marine and inland fish species. Some of the common fish found in the rivers are hilsa, pomfret, tuna, shark, shrimp, crab, lobster, mollusk, carp, catfish, snakehead, tilapia, rohu, mrigal, and koi. Fish is a major source of animal protein and income for the people of Tangail.

Forest resources: Tangail has some forest areas that provide timber, fuelwood, bamboo, rattan, and other forest products. The forests also support biodiversity and ecosystem services, such as soil conservation, water regulation, and carbon sequestration. The largest forest reserve in Tangail is the Madhupur National Park, which covers an area of 8,436 hectares. The park is home to various wildlife species, such as deer, monkey, squirrel, porcupine, fox, jackal, mongoose, civet cat, wild boar, and python. The park also has a botanical garden that displays different plants and flowers.
